About me

Hello, I'm Braden Longstreth, a varsity track and cross country athlete at Riverview High School in Oakmont, PA. My primary focus is on middle-distance events, particularly the 400m and 800m, in both indoor and outdoor track seasons. I also compete in longer distances, including the 1600m, 3200m, and the 5k during the fall cross country season.

I'm passionate about pushing myself to new limits, both physically and mentally. My training regimen is comprehensive, emphasizing prehab, nutrition, and total body conditioning. Currently, I am the 5th man on our varsity cross country team and an integral part of our 4x800m and 4x400m relay teams. In addition to relays, I compete individually in the 400m, 800m, 1600m, and 3200m, with a particular focus on the 400m and 800m.

My dedication has led to some significant achievements, including receiving a WPIAL district medal for the 4x800m relay in the 2024 outdoor track season. Our varsity team has also achieved remarkable success, winning the WPIAL district championship (1st place) in division A, finishing 2nd in sectionals across A and AA divisions, and securing 2nd place at the PIAA state championship in division A.

Academically, I maintain a 3.91 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and I am enrolled in AP and Honors classes. I have consistently achieved high honor roll and am a national qualifier in the National Academic Games. Beyond athletics and academics, I am actively involved in several school clubs, including Model UN, French Club, and Bots IQ.

As a year-round runner, I aspire to continue my athletic career at the collegiate level. I am a dedicated and hard-working individual who always prioritizes team success over individual accolades. My commitment to academics is equally strong, and I am eager to find a college where I can pursue both my running and academic goals.

Outside of school and sports, I work as a caddie at Longue Vue Country Club, and I enjoy golfing, basketball, and fantasy football. I'm also a foodie with a love for collecting and listening to vinyl records. Community involvement is important to me, and I regularly volunteer in various capacities. I am interested in pursuing a degree in Business or Finance, where I can combine my analytical skills with my passion for leadership.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I look forward to connecting with coaches and recruiters who share my passion for athletics and academics.
